Premium Black whole lampong Pepper Export-Grade Supply from INDONESIA

Global Business Services for Brazspice Spices International

Indonesia is one of the world’s historic origins of premium pepper

Known for its bold pungency, small berry size, and strong aromatic profile.
Through our long-standing network in Indonesia, Brazil Trade Business Group / Brazspice Spices offers reliable access to container-level and contract-volume Indonesian pepper, sourced directly from producing regions and prepared to international trade standards.

Origin: Indonesia

Lampong (often spelled Lampung) whole black pepper is a premium, high-quality peppercorn originating from the Lampung province in Southern Sumatra, Indonesia. It is a prized variety in the culinary world for its intense heat, sharp aroma, and complex, woody, and citrusy flavor profile.

Piperine & Strength Profile

Piperine content remains one of the key technical indicators of black pepper strength and pungency. While values vary by crop, maturity, and cleaning process, certain origins consistently demonstrate higher piperine potential.

Piperine Benchmarks (Industry Reality)

Typical commercial ranges:

  • Standard black pepper: 4.5–6.5%
  • Good quality export: 5.5–7.0%
  • Premium high-piperine: ≥7.0%
  • Exceptional lots: 7.4–8.5% (rarer, origin + crop dependent)

Brazspice High-Piperine Program

Featuring:

  • Tellicherry ≥7%
  • Malabar ≥7%
  • Selected Lampong ≥7%

Within the Brazspice Premium Pepper Collection,

Lampong black pepper from Indonesia can also deliver strong piperine results in selected harvests, although performance is typically more variable and therefore evaluated on a lot-by-lot basis.

Other premium origins in our portfolio — including

Sarawak, Kampot, and specialty wild peppers — are valued primarily for their distinctive aroma profiles and terroir characteristics rather than maximum pungency levels.

Because natural variation between harvests is normal, Brazspice evaluates piperine on a batch-specific basis and can support buyers requiring higher-strength material through carefully selected origin programs.

For applications where pungency specification is critical, our team can advise on the most suitable origin and crop selection.

key characteristics-details about Lampong whole pepper:

Flavor and Aroma: Lampong pepper is known for its, hot, and pungent taste. It provides a sharp, biting heat often described as more intense than average black pepper. It also carries notes of pine, citrus, and a subtle smokiness.

Appearance and Size: These peppercorns are slightly smaller and more compact than other popular varieties like Tellicherry. They are typically dark, wrinkled, and have a dense texture, as they are harvested when fully mature and then sun-dried.

Quality and Certification: Authentic Lampong pepper often bears a Geographical Indication (GI) certification, indicating it is specifically from the Sumatran region. It is highly regarded by chefs for its high piperine content, which contributes to its long-lasting, robust heat.
