Extraordinary truths about BRAZILIAN SUGAR, I'm sure you didn't know ...

- Sugarcane mills cannot export directly. In Brazil, they do not receive an export license from the government and need to sell sugar to an exporting cooperative or Trading.

- There are more than 400 plants in Brazil, mainly concentrated in the Center-South and in the Northeast. The state of São Paulo alone produces close to 60% of all sugarcane, sugar and ethanol in the country.

- Although Brazil produces sugar all year round, there is a period when production drops substantially. 90% of production is concentrated between April and November, so q fall occurs from December to March.

- Brazil sells and exports sugar all year, but the best period to buy and negotiate contracts is at the very beginning of the harvest.

- São Martinho is the largest sugar cane and alcohol producer in Brazil, which is why many scammers use the name of this great company. Scammers steal the logo, use real documents, mix it with fake documents and pretend to be salespeople, even use the name of company executives, but it is easy to discover the scam, just recognize the prices below the market.

- The scammers also use the names, documents and photos of Cargil, Raizen, Tereos, Cosan, among others. Do not fall into their trap, be aware of the subtleties.

- How is the export of sugar in Brazil? There are three modalities for exporting Brazilian sugar: bulk or bagged. Usually Raw Sugar is exported in bulk and processed only in the destination country Refined sugar of the Icumsa 45,150,200 type is exported in 50 kg bags, in a ship's hold or in a container. Thus, resulting in a higher value-added transaction.

- Who is the largest importer of Brazilian Sugar? Algeria is at the top of the ranking of Brazilian sugar importers in the current sugarcane harvest, according to figures from the Sugarcane Industry Union (Unica).

- Brazil does not receive government subsidies for export, as in India Info provided by Mello Commodity Brazil.
